The Chiral K531-40, like the T531-44, builds on the ideas of the earlier T351 series. It is a glass-top coffee table on a sculptural solid-wood base of five legs leaning into, and past, each other. Each leg has a triangular cross-section and tapers at the ends.

The Story behind the Chiral K531-40 Table
The Chiral K531 further develops the geometry of joining multiple angled legs which was first explored in the T351 series, and brings it down to coffee table dimensions. The challenge of the Chiral K531 was to find a way to assemble a skewed bundle of five legs. The solution was to add spacers between the legs - in the K531 these show up as maple cylinders between the walnut legs.
In the product name, "K" stands for coffee table, "5" for the number of legs, "3" for triangular cross section, "1" for the circular top, and "40" for the diameter of the top.
