The Story behind the Jetsons Dining Table
After I designed the Jetsons Dining Chair I knew it needed a dining table to go with it. So, voila', a table with a two-tone look, minimal, curving legs, and joinery that uses nuts and bolts. The table's dimensions are such that the six chairs fit comfortably.
The two woods used are walnut and ash. The curved pieces are real wood, the result of an industrial process that involves lamination and glue. For both the table and the chairs, the main joinery is literally nuts and bolts, with bolt heads recessed and concealed under wooden plugs which I've chosen to accentuate with contrasting wood.
